Another Great Review for The Bodyguard
One of the reasons I'm so excited about this review is because I had a touchy subject in my book. Rape. Now myself, I personally won't read a book with rape in it. So when I was writing The Bodyguard and I discovered Elena was a victim of rape, I was very nervous about how well it would go over with readers. There is NO rape in the story, but there are references, and I was afraid many readers would turn away from the book afraid of those references. After reading this review, I am glad to see what I intended to convey came through loud and clear.
Tara Renee said:
A year ago vampire Elena was taken by Lucian and tortured and raped repeatedly. Since then she has been protected day and night from the evil vampire. During the day she is protected by Nicolas, a man who she thinks is human and therefore safe, but who has secrets of his own. Nicolas has fought his attraction for Elena but when she dresses up to leave the house and go hunting he cannot hold back anymore. He knows Elena thinks he is unaware she is a vampire but he has always known and if she is going to feed, it will be from him. When Lucian breaks the outer defenses guarding Elena, Nicolas takes her to a safe house where he and his twin brother will work hard to replace her bad memories with pleasure.
You are going to need to change your panties after reading The Bodyguard by Michelle Hasker. This is a sensual tale filled with tenderness and passion. I enjoyed every second of reading The Bodyguard. Nicolas treats Elena with such compassion and he desires her so much, it is a joy to read. Elena is battling her memories of the brutality she suffered and Michelle Hasker handles the subject of her rapes with sensitivity and a refreshing frankness. I felt that Elena is a strong woman who just needs time to get past the rapes and Nicolas is the perfect man to help. There is an incredibly hot menage scene that just floored me. The Bodyguard is a story not to be missed.
She also gave the book 5 Lips :)
Thanks Tara and Two Lips Reviews!

Bunny Love

Available Now from Aspen Mountain Press
Blurb:
As a veterinarian, Tambra works long hours and has little time to "search" for a man. When she unexpectedly meets a man covered with tattoos and wearing a kilt, holding a small bunny while attending a Wiccan retreat she discovers things aren't always what they seem.
Excerpt:
Tambra froze in her tracks as she stared at the gorgeous male five paces ahead of her. She’d be late for the morning circle, but this would be worth the lecture later. He wasn’t watching where he was going, but instead looked down at the small bundle of rags he held in his hands.
Mr. Gorgeous was tanned and muscular. Since he was dressed in nothing but a kilt, she could easily see the tattoos that covered most of his legs, arms and chest, but didn’t detract from his looks at all. What woman wouldn’t want a bad boy like him? By the time she realized he was on a collision course with her, she tried to sidestep, but wasn’t fast enough.
“Oomph,” she gasped as her breath escaped in a whoosh and a tingle of electricity raced through her body starting at the point of contact and ending at her curled toes.
“Sorry.” His voice was low and husky as he lifted his gaze from his bundle to her.
“It’s okay.” She stared, caught up in the emerald green of his eyes. There probably wasn’t one thing about him that would disappoint. Maybe he was stupid, or mean, or something. He couldn’t look this fine and have a good personality.
“I wasn’t looking where I was going.” He licked his lips as he held her gaze.
Was he caught up in the same sexual charge she felt? Did he know she wanted nothing more than to throw him down on the ground and ride him fast and hard?
“It’s okay.” She sounded so breathy and desperate. Yet judging by the way his nostrils flared and his eyes darkened, he liked it.
“Do you know Tambra Wood?”
Tambra blinked. The hunk was looking for her.

busy busy busy
I had a Zoo trip on Thursday and a preschool graduation Thursday night. Then we set up the pool on Friday and pool party on Saturday. Then we had church this morning at my Aunt's church. She gave a great sermon :) and then a pool party at her house. Tomorrow is the closing ceremony for scouts. And then we have softball games and parties and school isn't even over yet. Geesh. I'm tired. LOL
I found out my story Bunny Love will release this friday from Aspen Mountain Press. Wee what is exciting. I have fallen behind in my writing, but is it any wonder why? Has NOTHING to do with the fact that my oldest daughter and I spent four hours playing Agatha Christie Death on the Nile. hehe nothing at all.
It is soooo hot. I hope we put the air conditioners in soon.
My second oldest had a really bad reaction to her shampoo. Yes she has asthma and allergies, but she's used this shampoo before without a reaction. I always have to be careful with her and this time her face swelled up big time. Oh well, what can we do. Gotta find a new shampoo for her. *sighs*
We're planning to go back to the Zoo. It was SOOOO much fun. We have season passes :) We're also gonna go see the King Tut exhibit when we can. Wish I could take pics but we can't.
okay, that is enough rambling for today hehe.
Oh yeah. Saw Pirates of the Carribean.
arghhhhh
wasted me money

New Review and a graduation ceremony
so my baby girl is now officially graduated from Preschool. And my book got 4 angels from FAR!!! Plus we had the Zoo trip today so I completely had NO time for TT. Man I miss TT.
Here is where you can read my great review!! Thanks Bella :)
The Bodyguard was a very satisfying read. The chemistry between Elena and Nicolas was realistic. I was drawn into their sexual tension almost immediately. Nicolas’ pure Alpha male personality had me fanning myself, eager to read more. Feisty Elena had me laughing aloud as she tried to manipulate Nicolas into getting her own way. They were a well-matched couple.
Michelle Hasker did a great job of dropping little tidbits to the reader, piquing interest as to the real identity of Nicolas. While he’s not vampire, he’s certainly not an ordinary human either.
Combine the romance of Elena and Nicolas with the suspenseful sub-plot of the loathsome villain, Lucian, and you’ve got a recipe for a great diversion or bedtime story. I look forward to seeing what Ms. Hasker will come up with next.

Interviewed
The Interview is here!
Argus: In Dreams - Tina Bendoni

My critique partner and best friend got a great review for her Loose Id novel Argus In Dreams. It was so good I wanna share it:
Argus: In Dreams is an action packed thriller that I couldn't put down. The story flows smoothly and had my attention from the first page. Diana and Gabe are a great pair with the right mojo for love at first sight.
Visit her website to find out more! www.tinabendoni.com
Diana has been dreaming about Gabe's military unit for the last 8
years. She never expected the unit to be real, or to fall in love with
the man that led it.
She also never expected to be told it was her destiny to save the
world. Or that an independent woman like her would need a man to do
the job.
It's a lot for a girl to accept.
But once she does accept it all – demon-fighting commandos, evil
sorcerers, magical female lineage, and damned fine man in her bed –
will the price for the safety of the world be too high to pay?

Luck of the Irish by Aline de Chevigny
Available Now from Aspen Mountain Press: http://www.aspenmountainpress.com/new-releases/luck-of-the-irish/prod_57.html

Blurb
When Dina’s boss assigns her to review a local family restaurant called Luck of the Irish on St. Patrick’s Day of all days, she isn’t happy. Upon entering the establishment and seeing all the staff dressed as Leprechauns, she expects passable food and annoyingly cheerful service. What she got left her breathless.
Connor had always known what his destiny held in store for him. When the gods finally bestowed their gift upon him, he never expected his destiny to take place in a pair of sea blue eyes. Now, he finally understood why a four leaf clover is considered good luck.
This is a hot, wonderful read. I even read it more than once hehehe :)

A review for The Bodyguard!!
Lisa from The Romance Studio gave The Bodyguard 4 hearts!!
This is my first Hasker book, and I must say I was really impressed with her writing style. The dialogue flows smoothly and was full of sensuality that was followed up with some red hot sex. Elena’s fear and insecurity was easily understood and Nicholas was able to express his feelings without loosing any of his alpha characteristics. It was comical how Nicholas let his feelings be known with his brother Nash in the picture. Which brings up the point of whether or not we will get to read a story about Nash? The Bodyguard does feature references of past violence towards Elena as well as anal sex and a ménage scene, both of which were written as a healing point in the story.
Here is the whole review.
Can we all join me in a dance? I have my celtic woman CD blasting LOL

Thursday Thirteen Edition #8
NEW YORK (Reuters) - If the typical stay-at-home mother in the United States were paid for her work as a housekeeper, cook and psychologist among other roles, she would earn $138,095 a year, according to research released on Wednesday.
This reflected a 3 percent raise from last year's $134,121, according to Salary.com Inc, Waltham, Massachusetts-based compensation experts.
The 10 jobs listed as comprising a mother's work were housekeeper, cook, day care center teacher, laundry machine operator, van driver, facilities manager, janitor, computer operator, chief executive officer and psychologist, it said.
The typical mother puts in a 92-hour work week, it said, working 40 hours at base pay and 52 hours overtime.
A mother who holds full-time job outside the home would earn an additional $85,939 for the work she does at home, Salary.com.
Last year she would have earned $85,876 for her at-home work, it said.
Salary.com compiled the online responses of 26,000 stay-at-home mothers and 14,000 mothers who also work outside the home.

So here is my TT :)

Edition # 8 Things I have to do today
1. Watch for trash and recycle trucks and run and grab the empties before they go out onto the main road and get driven into, or the wind takes them down a block.
2. Clean up doggie and bunny doo, feed dog (Piggy that she is) and the bunny and both turtles and the fish.
3. Wash dishes at least 3 times because 7 people make quite a mess.
4. Laundry. I only have to wash for 6 but it means laundry every day.
5. Already got two kids off to school and the others are home today. Which means double the work ;)
6. Write. I have stories contracted that need to be written, plus I am doing a May Nano with the Daughters of Circe.
7. Softball game and a concert. Gonna have to skip the softball game cause hubby is coaching so he'll be there and I'll go to the concert. One of the kids is gonna miss that dance class tonight.
8. Attend my publisher/author chat if I get home in time.
9. feed the family should be obvious, but sometimes I forget...when I'm writing.
10. Research spell casting.
11. keep checking back here to see if anyone commented and go comment on a million other TT and see what the new people I've met over the past few weeks are up to.
12. clean. gotta find time to do that
13. exercise. when you gain weight, you gotta take it back off. Unless you were underweight to begin with, and trust me, I wasn't.
I had to delete as I have more things to do today as well, but no more room :)

New Release Celtic Love Knots Volume Two
Available May 1 from Whiskey Creek Press Torrid
Two women: different lives, same experiences. Can each face her past to learn if there will ever be a future with the man that left her so long ago?
Sheila and Briana don’t know each other. But each of them met a man and fell in love after one night of unforgettable passion. Both of them were deserted cruelly the next day, never to hear from their loves again. This year they have both been invited to special Beltane celebration. One where a friend is to marry a man that was brought to her thanks to a love potion. Can the magic of that union rub off on these two women? Can Beltane bring about a pair of unions meant to be?
Sheila’s Surrender by Michelle Hasker
Blurb:
Sheila attends her first Beltane festival and meets a man too good to be true. She's been hurt in the past, will Bryant be able to heal her wary heart?
Excerpt:
The hungry look in his eyes was her undoing. No man had ever looked at her with such desire, and she would do anything to keep it there.
“Use whatever you want.”
“Thank you.” He smiled at her and pushed her toward the air mattress. “Lay down and wait for me.”
Sheila obeyed him quickly, hoping that he hurried. She was so ready for him that it terrified her. He was a stranger, and here she was, about to let him tie her up and have his way with her. What if he wanted her in the ass?
She studied him as he dug through her things until he came up with the tie from her robe, and her thin cotton nightgown. What was he going to tie her to? He couldn’t mean to tie her to the tent. She’d bring it down on their heads if she moved.
Bryant studied her for a minute then he walked over and held out his hand. When she hesitated, his expression softened. “Trust me, Sheila. I won’t do anything you don’t want, and nothing that will hurt you.”
“I trust you,” she answered and offered her hands to him.
He took her belt and then used it to tie her wrists together. What was the nightgown for then? He twisted it and covered her eyes with it.
Sheila gasped and automatically lifted her hands to push it away.
“Shhh,” he whispered, pushing her hands down. “This will heighten your other senses and increase your pleasure.”
Increase her pleasure? She already felt as if she’d melt into a puddle and he wanted to increase it?
“Please,” she begged when he finished blindfolding her but still didn’t touch her.
“I love the way you beg.” He pushed her hands above her head.
Bryant kissed her softly on the lips while his hands cupped her face. He moved until she felt his legs on either side of her. Something brushed against her leg and she realized he wasn’t wearing anything under that kilt. Oh my.

NEW TORTUGA - Recommended by ME :)

Monday's Child
Jessica D. Russell
Genre: Science Fiction, Mystery
Price: $3.49
Available now
Ianna James's band is cursed. Several members have died in freak accidents. Returning to the lowtown area of New Tortuga, Ianna hopes to escape the curse put on her show but now she must reconcile her disasterous past, one she'd hoped to leave behind forever.
Excerpt:
He was dead and it was my fault.
I stared at the charred stage floor torn between horror and numbness. I preferred the numbness. Occasionally shudders wracked my body and I'd clutch the woolen blanket tighter around my body. Questions were asked above my head and all I could think about was Jhon. My beautiful Jhon.
I sat alone in the middle of a room full of people. No one but the gossip columnists and holo newscasters paid any attention to me. A thousand voices called questions from behind the cordon, but I couldn't hear them past the roar in my ears. Jhon was dead.
They'd taken his body already. I needed to call his life partner but somehow my body wouldn't move. Fog filled my mind and I welcomed it. Another death. Tonight's headlines would say something about my tour's curse. Fatal accidents followed us. I blinked. Me. They followed me. I clenched the bridge of my nose and fought off the tears.
My gaze fixated on the spot where Jhon had died. Where I should have died. Would the smell of burned flesh ever leave me? Why did it have to be fire? It had been my choreography. I made the call to switch up the moves. My eyes burned with unshed tears and I knew I had to get out of here before I lost it in front of the universe.
The media sweep cameras were trying to hover over the cordon. I shivered. No telling how much of Jhon's death they'd caught on camera. It had been our greatest performance in over a year. Guilt gnawed at my stomach. Godless law, I had to get out of here. I shoved the blanket off my shoulders and looked for the easiest way out.
"Miss Ianna James?" A sharp-eyed detective in a standard issue green skin suit smiled at me. Almost any other time I would have appreciated the sight of a well-developed man, especially one that put all the right ridges and curves in that suit. I smiled a half-hearted smile. Yeah, what a helluva companion I'd be tonight.
"Yes, Detective?" I crossed my arms and planted my feet. He'd get a fight if he wanted one. I needed to get to my room and under the influence of a nice sedative.
I watched Mickey make his way toward me with the determination of a bulldog. Mickey, my hero and assistant, oh goddess I loved him. That man could make anyone sit up and beg. I smiled at the detective and relaxed my stance.
"Ianna, love, we have to go." Mickey swept me up into his arms like we'd been lovers forever, although we'd never made it past platonic.
I nuzzled his cheek and smiled. We played it very well. It kept the wolves and fortune hunters at bay. So far anyway. He set me down and gave me a tight hug.
The detective cleared his throat and I waited.
"More questions?" Mickey's smile fell. He kissed my forehead and sighed. "I'd wanted to get us to bed and away from all of this."
He pulled me close and slipped an arm around my shoulders. I closed my eyes and longed for my room like a drug. Another round of questions and I'd fall apart.
The detective cleared his throat.
"Ianna, he wants your autograph." Mickey's murmur shocked me to stillness.
I stared, incredulous. The bastard. Sure enough he held a pen and sheet of, oh how quaint, real honest to goodness Old Earth paper for me to sign. Images of a pen nib sticking out of his jugular flashed in my mind.
With shaking hands I jerked the utensils out of his grasp and scribbled a signature glaring my disgust. He had the decency to look uncomfortable.
I shoved them back at him and turned on my heel. Mickey fell in step with me blocking the waves of media and onlookers as we made our way through the cordon line. He held my arm and I slipped from his grasp.
“Miss Ianna, what’s this we hear about a curse?”
“How long until we hear the announcement of a wedding, Ianna?”
A voice rose above the questions pummeling her from all directions, "Wedding? How about an engagement first?" The crowd broke out in laughter.
Dear Sweet Mother of Earth, I needed a break from all this. Wedding. Curse. Gossipmongers and harridans, snakes and liars. My skin crawled and right now I hated them all. A tide of neediness flooded over me, threatening to suck me down into an overwhelmed state. Everyone wanted something. Even Mickey. I jerked my arm out of his hold again. For almost six months I'd considered a break. Maybe a vacation. The crowd shoved forward against the line and I felt the desperate need to escape. I ran.
Mickey bellowed after me but I couldn't hear anything over the roar of my heartbeat. Jhon was my friend. No, more than that. He was my family. His boyfriend was my family. Stage hands, fans, and now my own team were dying off one by one.
I shoved through the crowd of people, ignoring the hands touching me or trying to hold on to me. With a desperate cry I broke through and raced to my bike outside, thankful there were no hover bike restrictions on this planet.
With tears streaming down my cheeks I jumped onto the seat of my angel and gunned the engine. Her deep red paint reflected the lights in the alley. The dark scents of fuel and ozone filled my nostrils. I inhaled deeply, letting the familiar smells comfort me and wipe away the stink of death. I slipped on my ear piece and goggles. She settled to a purr and I was off, as high as the dome would let me.
I opened her up and let her fly. We ran the rim of the dome with reckless abandon. Gods above, I loved this bike. The wind ripped the tears from my cheeks leaving icy burns in their wake.
Nothing else flew in this dome. She brought me to the very top and I floated there, my sight drawn to the beautiful image of space. I took off my goggles and let go, let the horror and the pain tear its way through my soul. Only here did I let my tears fall unheeded. Sobs wracked my body and I pulled into myself, trying to remember, something, anything that could have stopped Jhon’s death. I wish I could remember every bit, but only flashes of stage set up were in my memory.
My mind went over the day in a loop. Every detail I could remember came in to a sharp focus. Everything had been normal, had felt normal. We ran through the show a hundred times. Everyone knew their positions. It had been practiced to perfection.
After the cameras had been set up for the show, Jhon had asked if he could switch positions in the finale. We'd worked together for so long we could switch positions without a problem. He wanted the flair of lights behind him for his string solo. I’d laughed. Dramatic had always been his flair. I should have stopped him. The pyrotechnics were too dangerous. Too many things could go wrong. Godless law, he’d been thrilled when I agreed.
When the last explosion rocked the stage, the crowd had surged to its feet, stomping and screaming. I knew. I knew something had gone wrong. Jhon was behind me and the horrifying smell of burned human flesh sent me to my knees. The smoke cleared and the screaming started.

The Bodyguard - Release Day!!!

I was so excited about my new release today that I poured ice tea in my cereal. Okay, maybe I was tired...hmmm.
So let me do my promo :)
The Bodyguard
Available now from Loose Id
Blurb:
Elena wants revenge. She'll give anything to kill the man who raped her. Her bodyguard Nicolas wants her safety...and her love. He's not about to let anything stop him. Not even the fact she's a vampire.
And a special, my blog only excerpt Rated R in case you don't know me very well ;)
Excerpt:
“Nicolas?” she whispered in his ear.
His heart pumped faster, and the knowledge that she aroused him to such a fevered pitch excited her.
“Nicolas.” She purred as she slid her hand on his thigh.
He jumped and smacked his head on the roof as he moved away from her. She followed him, sliding her palm toward the obvious evidence of his arousal as he rubbed at his head.
She wanted to forget Lucian and his crude abuse on her body. She wanted Nicolas to love her tenderly and show her that she was a woman, not an object, not something to be owned and controlled. Not something to be dominated and broken.
As she cupped his erection, he brushed her hand away. “We’re here. Just wait a few minutes for Nash to check that the house is still secure before we go in.”
“Whatever should we do while we wait?” She walked her fingers up his chest as she asked, “Nicolas, what do you plan to do to keep me in the car until he leaves?”
“Nothing.” His voice cracked. She fought back a giggle as he cleared his throat.
“We’ll just sit here and wait until the coast is clear.”
“Well, I for one am a little hot,” she said as she opened a button on her dress. She was glad she’d chosen the button-up sweaterdress. The red complemented her complexion, and he couldn’t doubt her statement since it was made of a heavy material.
Nicolas cleared his throat and looked at his watch. “Just a few minutes, then you can take a cold shower.”
“I don’t want to shower.” She opened another two buttons. “I want to relieve this aching, burning need right now.” And maybe forget all about a certain bastard in the process.
“Please, Elena …”
“Yes, Nicolas?” She popped open another button, then another. He turned to look and stared at the skin she’d exposed. Smiling, knowing he was ensnared in her spell, she trailed a finger down and opened another button. She shrugged, and the dress fell off to pool at her waist.
He gasped and swallowed. Elena watched his throat work as she shimmied out of her dress and leaned back on the seat. She had a good body, even for a vampire. Obviously Nicolas agreed because he shifted uncomfortably in the seat.
Elena slouched in the seat and spread her legs open, hoping he would see the glistening proof of her desire.
“You …” He stopped and swallowed again, his throat muscles working as he stared at her body. “You must have been really hot.”
“You don’t know the half of it.”
Have a great day!

edition 6 - 13 Things my kids do that make me melt: Last time I blogged about 13 things my kids do to drive me crazy, so I thought I'd do the reverse this week. 1. Crawl up in my lap and put their head on me and cuddle for no reason at all. 2. When my two year old grabs my hand and says "Come on, Mommy." He didn't talk until two months ago so for now at least, when he talks he gets the attention :) 3. When one of them just hands me a piece of artwork just because. 4. When they share their candy with me :) 5. When I say, let's all watch scooby doo together, and they all come in the living room and sit and watch with me. 6. My oldest wants to write books just like Mommy. We bought them a program that we put on the non internet computer and they can not only create pictures, but they can write stories too. Even the 4 year old does it. 7. When my 2 and 4 year old were playing Nintendo DS last night, or rather 4 year old was playing Princess Peach and 2 year old was laying next to her watching and laughing and making noises, and she just leaned over and kissed the top of his head and went back to playing. I am melting again....*sniffles* 8. When my 2 year old plays house and he has "mommy" and "butter" cause he loves peanut butter so my sister nicknamed him butter. Since he answers to it, we let him keep it :) 9. My husband unpacked his transformers and he has an original Grimlock Gremlock whatever. needless to say the 2 year wont give it up and even takes it in the tub. Carries it every where, even feeds it. And it kisses mommy :) 10. He just handed me a gummy worm. 11. When I pull out the gardening stuff and they all go for their gloves cause they wanna help me. 12. 7 year old and I had a screaming match last night and I won, but we were both crying and the 4 year old came up to me and hugged me and said I love you mommy. (7 year old likes to tell me I'm fat, calls me fat butt, told people I'm pregnant....you get the idea.) 13. When my husband is at work and it's bedtime and all 4 climb in my bed, get right into their spots, and we watch tv without fighting. Links to other Thursday Thirteens! |

And it just gets busier
I'm getting really excited because my Loose release is coming up very soon. April 24th, weeeeeeeeeeee. I can't wait. I love the hero LOL. I also love the hero of a story I started working on this weekend. I wrote 12k in three days and it felt great. Til today when I wrote practically nothing.
There's always tomorrow right? After I go to the drugstore and sears for a new outfit for the dinner and make dinner for the monkeys and Aunt Kate. And a softball game if the fields dry up enough, course I'll miss that. But there is only so much I can squeeze in one day, LOL. Oh yeah, I need printer ink too.
Time for bed, they are all asleep and in bed and it's 10:30. A MIRACLE!! Or mommy screamed and yelled at the top of her lungs and one cried herself to sleep, two other got yelled at AGAIN, and the baby curled up next to miserable me and is asleep in my bed. AFTER he did the climb on mommy and kick her and pull her hair crap while watching Where's Gary fifty million times. Have I mentioned I can recite all the lines from all the characters from every episode on the disk? WIthout watching the disk.
LOL
Have a great week!

Thursday Thirteen Edition Five
![]() |
TT edition #5 - Thirteen Things My Children Do To Drive Me Crazy 1. They wait until their third warning about bedtime to race to kitchen for a drink and snack when I'm not looking. 2. They leave their shoes out in an attempt to kill or injure me. 3. 2 year old son demands a 'TUBBY' (take a bath) no less than three times a day. 4. 7 year old won't sleep in her room even if I bribe her. 5. 4 year old won't keep her clothes on even with threat of beatings or bribes of treats. 6. Demands to use the laptop ALWAYS occure when I'm in mid-love scene and they won't go away. 7. Son watches a movie over and over until Mommy can speak the parts for the characters and doesn't realize she is doing it until someone looks at her FUNNY. 8. They all jump to help me with the dishes, but not one gets them clean. 9. Bedtime. I totally lost control like 5 months ago. Can't get them to bed even with threats of spankings and promises of doing something special. 10. Activities. Three dance classes, two softball teams, two girl scout troops, computer art club, after school sports, preschool, and next year it will be four dance classes, two softball and a T-ball, aye aye aye. Yes, I'm putting my son in dance class. 11. Fat. Why are children obsessed with looks, clothes, and size even in first grade? 12. Drinks. Everytime one goes in the living room they spill it. No matter who's it is. 13. Tv/computer. Why can't I get them off? |

6-easter basket rounds. we already received the baskets from lancaster, the ones from my dad are coming tonight, hand delivered, the bunny leaves baskets on Sunday, and of course always leaves baskets at my mother in law's too cause we don't have enough stuff going on that day we need to house hop too.

sooo got my second youngest registered for kindergarten and she's also signed up for the screening to see if she can go straight to kindergarten or if she needs to take summer lessons. Of course kindergarten isn't mandatory in Pennsylvania so I'm not sure why they have to go to summer school if they don't test well enough when from what I hear they can't turn anyway away or make you go to the extra lessons.
okay...
Spring break starts Friday afternoon for two of my children and for another one is started today :) Gotta love religious preschools. Tony the tiger will be thrilled Care Bear isn't going to school for a week and a half :) Wait til he finds out Pumpkin and Pooh are going to be home too :)
so I haven't gotten any writing done since.... Saturday so I'm way far behind my 10k a week writing goal. Oh well, there's still a few days left to write :)
Anyone seen my muse? oh wait! there he is. Quick, someone grab him before he escapes.

Sold Again :)
Here is a blurb:
When Meredith killed her husband in self defense, she certainly didn’t expect to ever see him again. But Federal Agent Slade Jackson says he is alive and killing women several states away. What else can she do but help him catch the killer before any more women die. Including herself.
I sent back what I hope is the last round of edits for The Bodyguard. I still LOVE that book cover. Croco Designs ROCKS!

Bite Me -------> The Bodyguard
The Bodyguard.
So obvious I couldn't think of it by myself. LOL.
I played with my links and stuff so I'm going to leave this as a short post. Too tired to think of something good to say. In fact, I can't even remember if I posted in here about my witch series coming out in 2008 from WCP Torrid LOL.

Boreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeedom
Could it be possible that I 'need' noise and distraction in order to write? Have I gotten so used to the children running amok and my husband saying, hey, honey listen to this, check this out, did you see that?, that I can't write without them?
I admit it, my mind wanders and I'm so easily distracted. It's one of the reasons I forget things and run late. I don't watch the clock, and I never write down reminders. Why? It's so important how could I forget? But I do.
I spent the weekend trying to write. I really did. But then my husband had a temper tantrum and the rest of the weekend went down hill.
I spent Sunday after noon and evening watching Rose Red. A delightful movie, love stephen king, and since I do write suspense and vampires, I can rationalize it all I want, but the bottom line is, if it was on again tonight, I'd be there watching it again LOL. Great movie.
Monday, had a bunch of kiddies at a candy making class. That was a blast, but came home cranky. Hid myself in my room and wrote almost to the 25k i'd wanted. Tuesday was good. I finished the goal and went a little higher, but I admit it, I wasted some writing time checking emails. Hey when you have 7 pages of groups under your writing name, and then 5 under your real name, you have a lot of email. Then there is my email box for my family, friends, and scout stuff, and then there are my gmail accounts, one for me and one for michelle...Groups to promote on, groups to talk on, groups to read and learn on, and then there is the Luna boards with the Magical Queen and Bog - my partner in crime and co-conspirator on the board where we run amok and tell a story, just for fun.
I have tons of ideas running through my head, I have many things started, and many stories due. But am I working on them? Nope. I'm checking my email. And seeing if it's the phone ringing...
Why?

Sales, sales, and more sales
I sold Bite Me to Loose Id. It needs a new name, and comes out April 24th. Weeeeee can you say, wow that is early. It's a fling about a vampire and her fae bodyguard. Yes, it was a lot of fun to write.
I sold a series about 6 witches and backfiring spells to Whiskey Creek Press Torrid. They will come out next year in Feb, April, June, August, October and December.
I am working on a celtic love knots submission but might put that aside to do other things..like edits, LOL. I also started another story that has Jack and Morgan in it for a little bit, but starring Kayla and Ty. :) I also have that Nocturne I need to finish, and the story I wanted to polish for Ellora's Exotika line. And then there is Kensington Aphrodesia, but I read two stories from them where the authors used the term "furry balls" and in another story I saw "lightly furred balls". Okay, I'm sorry but that so put me out of the mood to read that I had to put the stories aside until I stopped laughing and could think of the story without dwelling on the furriness of the heroes balls.
I have Tina to thank for her meat grapes.

You know you're an erotic romance writer when....
2-people ask your husband if you write about your own sexual adventures in the bedroom and he just grins at them and doesn't answer.
3-you are laying in bed at night and ask your husband if he likes what you are doing, and he hesitates and asks you if it's for a book before he answers.

Celtic Love Knots Volume One - Available Now
Morgan’s Magick and Through The Veil – Celtic Love Knots Volume One
Available February 1st
Morgan’s Magick by Michelle Hasker
Blurb:
Mix together a witch, a wandmaker, and a love potion, and get a tale full of lust and mistrust. Can Morgan and Jack figure out what is real and what is not before Samhain?
Excerpt:
“Dinner?” Her head whipped around so fast, pain seared her neck. Morgan groaned and rubbed the sensitive area. She probably gave herself whip-lash.
Jack’s warm hands caressed the back of her neck before she could protest, and once he put his hands on her, she didn’t want to.
“Ohh, mmmm,” she moaned her pleasure as he worked magic with those skillful fingers.
“You like this?” His voice sounded huskier than usual.
She sighed and leaned back into the massage. “Yes. You have some very talented hands.”
“So what about dinner?” he asked as his hands moved to the tops of her shoulders.
“Dinner?” she echoed. Why was he asking her out to dinner?
“Dinner and a discussion of this partnership.”
Morgan heard the desire in his deep voice. Now to test that she wasn’t mistaken. She shifted her body so her backside brushed against him. As she rubbed against his hard shaft, Jack gasped. He pushed against her, then must have caught him-self, because he released her so fast, she stumbled.
“Jack,” Morgan said as she turned around to smile at him.
“Yes?” he asked as he took a step back.
Morgan let her gaze drift down his body and then focused on his obvious erection. “What kind of partnership did you have in mind?”
“With you? Any.” He groaned and slapped his forehead with his hand. “I mean, we can discuss that over dinner. I mean, unless you want strictly a working relationship—”
“Jack?” she interrupted.
“What?”
“Shut up and kiss me,” Morgan growled.
Through The Veil by Tina Bendoni
Blurb:
Alyson has the perfect man, but only in her dreams. Her friendly neighborhood witch decides to change all that on Samhain. Fortunately, plans go awry and Alyson’s dream man becomes flesh and blood. He has 24 hours to convince her that she is his soul mate and destiny. Can she leave all she knows behind for a chance at perfect love?
Excerpt:
Alyson looked up at the sound of footsteps approaching her. It was him. Lucas. Six foot six inches tall in his bare feet, and long brown hair that had the most gorgeous blond highlights. Every time she saw him, she wanted to run her fingers through it. It was soft as down and felt wonderful against her body. She knew she could never get enough of him.
Tonight, he was wearing jeans that hugged his body like a second skin. They left nothing to her imagination, but she knew exactly what was under that denim, and the material barely did it justice. Her body tingled at the thought of stripping those jeans off him before the night was through.
As always, he approached her with the sleekness and stealth of a jungle cat. As though she were a scared mouse that might run away.
“Good evening, Alyson.” That deep voice sent shivers running up and down her spine, centering on her suddenly wet pussy.
“Hello, Lucas.” Alyson heard her own voice, breathy and sultry, so unlike her normal tone. He did that to her every time.
He reached for her, nesting his hand in her own long red hair, running it through his fingers. “You look exquisite tonight.”
Alyson looked down at herself. She was wearing a low cut v-neck shirt that clung to her chest, showing her hardened nipples through the light material. A broomstick skirt swung nearly to her ankles, blowing in the light breeze.
“Thank you.” She felt herself blush.
“Anywhere you would like to go? Or maybe just stay here?” His husky voice left Alyson no doubt as to what he wanted to do if they stayed in tonight. The sparks running down her body from where his hand held hers reminded her she was perfectly willing.
“Staying in sounds like fun,” she whispered with a smile.

Tammy from Fallen Angels Reviews gave Celtic Love Knots Volume 1
5 Angels and a Recommended Read.
This is what she said:Morgan’s Magick by Michelle Hasker is a tantalizing story that will have you begging for more. The characters are well detailed and enjoyable; the plot is appealing and extremely sensual. I loved the passion and electricity that flowed between Morgan and Jack and thought the author did a fantastic job of grabbing the reader’s attention from the first page and holding it until the last. Through The Veil by Tina Bendoni is a tempting tale that will leave you wishing for a dream man of your own. I thought the premise of this plot was very exciting and the characters well developed for such a short story. The sex in this story was hot enough to burn and left me eager to read the second volume of the Celtic Love Knots series!

What kind of writer
| You Should Be a Romance Novelist |
![]() You see the world as it should be, and this goes double for all matters of the heart. You can find the romance in any situation, and you would make a talented romance story writer... And while you may be a traditional romantic, you're just as likely to be drawn to quirky or dark love stories. As long as it deals with infatuation, heartbreak, and soulmates - you could write it. |

Contest - Love Spell
Morgan's Magick will be released in February from Whiskey Creek Press as part of Celtic Love Knot Volume One. In anticipation of one of my favorite short stories, I am having a contest. In my story there is a mix up with a love spell, so what better prize can I give then that?
Win a Little Book of Spells! For love, luck and new beginnings. I'll also be adding in a color co-ordinated tea light holder for the tea lights that come with the spell kit. While you may choose to do a love spell, the book contains several other spells as well, and essential oil for healing, empowering and blessing as well as a magical stone that is covered with plastic and I can't see. LOL
To enter, send an email to contests @ michellehasker.com with the subject of Love Spell. (no spaces ;)
Those in my yahoo newsletter group will automatically get an entry but can send in an email for an extra entry.
I will pick a winner at the end of February!

What is your sexual color?
I'm Blue:
BLUE
Lovers of blue are wonderful sex partners. They are affectionate and sensitive to their partner's needs. They consider love making a fine art and their approach is elegant. Men who love blue are like concert pianists, delicately ravaging their partner like they would play a baby grand. Women in the blue category enjoy sex to the fullest. They are exciting partners but their passion may be compared to a tidal wave rather than firery aggression. Both women and men enjoy foreplay and the aftermath of lovemaking, as much as the sex act itself. In marriage a blue person is a wonderful mate -- never seeking outside interests.

New Review for Celtic Love Knot Volume One

Tammy, from Fallen Angel Reviews gave Celtic Love Knot Volume One a 5 angel rating and a Recommended Read. She also said:
Celtic Love Knots Volume 1 is a delicious treat containing two erotic stories that complement each other perfectly. I have to say that this book is a marvelous beginning to what I hope is a very long series and one I don’t want to miss.
Morgan’s Magick by Michelle Hasker
Morgan Engles owns her own store named Morgan’s Magickal Shoppe where she caters to her Wiccian heritage and sells specialty items such as potions and wands. When Jack Quinn comes into her shop to show her the new batch of wands he’s made for her to sell, Morgan can’t help but feel the sexual pull between them and knows she won’t be able to fight off her attraction to him much longer. When Jack starts flirting with her, she decides to give in to the temptation he so boldly offers.
Morgan’s Magick by Michelle Hasker is a tantalizing story that will have you begging for more. The characters are well detailed and enjoyable; the plot is appealing and extremely sensual. I loved the passion and electricity that flowed between Morgan and Jack and thought the author did a fantastic job of grabbing the reader’s attention from the first page and holding it until the last.
Through The Veil by Tina Bendoni
Alyson has the perfect man; the one she has always dreamed of, the only problem is that he is only in her dreams. Alyson had come to love Lucas and their nights together and knew she would never want anyone but him. She just needed a way to convince her friend Bree that her dream man was enough, but Bree has other ideas. She decides to use a spell to bring Alyson the perfect man, a real man, for one night only while the veil between worlds is thin. If the spell works, how will Alyson feel about her dream man after being with a flesh and blood man?
Through The Veil by Tina Bendoni is a tempting tale that will leave you wishing for a dream man of your own. I thought the premise of this plot was very exciting and the characters well developed for such a short story. The sex in this story was hot enough to burn and left me eager to read the second volume of the Celtic Love Knots series!

Morgan's Magick - Michelle Hasker
An Unspecified City - Present Day
When Jack Quinn and Morgan Engles finally move from friendship to something more, well, intimate, things are going smashingly. But then Jack finds out that his sister bought a love potion from Morgan to use on him. Will their new found love end before it ever really begins?
Whoa baby, when Jack and Morgan give in to their feelings, the sparks fly. Not a word is wasted in this sizzling tale of magickal love.
Through The Veil - Tina Bendoni
An Unspecified City - Present Day
Alyson is in the best relationship she's ever had. She and Lucas talk, argue, make-up in oh-so-satisfying ways; he's her perfect match. Well, perfect but for one tiny detail; he only exists in her dreams. Then Brianna, Alyson's friend and a witch, decides to give Alyson what she wants most, her dream man. The only catch is the spell only works for twenty four hours. Suddenly Lucas appears in the flesh, and he's as irresistible as ever. Is Alyson willing to do whatever it takes to be with the love of her life for more than one night?
The heat generated by Alyson and Lucas is scorching. You'll wish for a friendly witch to cast a spell on your behalf after reading this sexy story, I certainly did.
A steamy anthology that hits all the right notes, CELTIC LOVE KNOTS, VOLUME 1 is a surefire winner.

Sick and Miserable
Non Drowsy Theraflu is a godsend, but I'm still tired. Even taking a 2-3 hour nap this morning hasn't helped. Well, it helped but I'm so tired it's hard to write.
I should be at a chat at Love Romances, but I just want to curl up in a ball and sleep. I am going to cancel my meeting tonight. I need to just stay in and rest. They'll just have to deal with it until Monday. I have so much this weekend there is no way I can handle it if I don't get better.
Okay, end of my bitching, time to get back to writing nookie. This is for Temperance, and is perfect for this time of the year with the fruitcake balls. Hehehe :)

The Fedex lady must think I'm whacked
What else can you say when you know you are about to ask something that would make people look at you in a different light? It's one thing to send flowers or candy, but when you want to send an ornate knife used in rituals? I mean, can you send a weapon through Fedex and not get caught? And if there are traces of blood on it... I suppose you can. However, I just wanted to know if I could send it from one end of the United States to the other in the same day. Apparently you need an account to do that, and the package must be under 15 pounds. Well WOOO HOOO. Now I have a way to send pressies when I'm really late :-D
Now how to prove this to an editor?
Me: Yeah, I called Fedex. As long as Mr. X has an account with them he can send the four pound knife from Y to Z in the same day.
Miss Editor: Really? You called them?
Me: Yeah, I identified myself as an author, and she didn't even question me. Nor did she stutter or cough when I mentioned murder weapon and mailing it--
Miss Editor: I don't know. The readers might not believe this...
Me: They do say truth is stranger than fiction.
Now... will Homeland Security come after me? Perhaps the police will barge in one day as I'm changing my son's diaper, guns drawn and shouting, "Hit the ground and don't move."
I dunno, I got my laugh for the day.

Starts
It is soooo easy to start a story but then real life intrudes and another wonderful idea comes along and then it gets shelved until you pull it out and dust it off and see the potential. I hope to finish more of my stories in my idea folder even if I end up only using them as free reads.
Speaking of free reads, I'm dreadfully behind in putting up a new story, but writing commitments come first so I will be posting one February 14th at the latest.
Real life intrudes so I'll be back to more again soon.

Hmmmm
Well, the series I am working on with my critique partner is coming along nicely. I can't wait to send it in and see what the editor has to say. Hopefully we won't disappoint.
If I have any typos I'll apologize now. I tried using spell checker on here once and lost the whole post. Course between all the errors I encounter here on blogger - lol - it's amazing I've even got posts up.
Soooo... I'm steadily working on many different stories. I have a writing journal I use now to keep track of my writing. Sometimes it works and sometimes I pretend I can't find the notebook :)
I had a great time at the Joyfully reviewed chat yesterday and look forward to more chats there. The chatters and lurkers are so nice and the hostesses are superb :) I like coffeetime romance chats too and am headed over there as I think there is a WCP chat there tonight. Or so I was told.
Happy reading!

Blogger Beta
I'm doing NaNoWriMo this year. I failed last year, this year I'm up to 43k, not sure I can reach that 50k mark. It's the goal setting. If I set NO goal I am fine. But once I give myself a deadline, that's it. It's all she wrote.
I'm working on a series of tarot card stories. I think they are really cool and I've been doing readings for about a year and decided to try and write these stories. A friend and critique partner is writing half and I'm writing the other half. We'll see how they go and if they find a home :)
I've moved into a new house...hence being AWOL for a little while. With the holidays and everything else I'll be a rarity for a bit as well.
I have a christmas candy contest running on my website www.michellehasker.com that will go til the end of December, then some lucky winner will get a basker of my favorite christmas candy and goodies! woo hoo. I wish I could win-LOL.
Now to check out the rest of this new blogger thingy....
