Dating 101
When you're dating a guy, you can forgive him for some indiscretions, but it's nearly impossible to turn the other cheek if he strays. Well, Cosmo did some investigating to ascertain the traits that may make men more likely to cheat, and some of our findings were surprising eye-openers.
But before you freak, realize that just because he possesses characteristics of a mangy scoundrel doesn't mean he's actually cheating on you. "You have to listen to your gut as well as read the clues," says Gary Aumiller, Ph.D., a psychologist and coauthor of "Red Flags! How to Know When You're Dating a Loser." Run through this list of wandering-eye warning signs to see if your partner is predisposed to prowl... and find out how you can deal.
They go on to list 4 factors and have links to other articles on men cheating.
I have to say that their list doesn't surprise me, and I'm thrilled my husband doesn't fit all of those things ;)

National Dog Day
When : Always August 26th
National Dog Day has two goals: to honor dogs, and to rescue dogs from homelessness and abuse. It's an opportunity for us to recognize and appreciate the value and importance of dogs in our lives.
This day is intended to honor dogs for all that they do for us. In addition to giving love and companionship, dogs help us out in countless ways. They are watchdogs for our safety. They lead the blind. Dogs aid in search and rescue, and they seek out bombs and drugs.
The second goal of National Dog Day is to rescue dogs in need. On occasion, dogs need us to save them from homelesness and abuse. The goal of the National Dog Day foundation is to rescue 10,000 dogs a year. Lend a hand to help a dog in need today, or any day.
Origin of National Dog Day:
National Dog Day was created by the National Dog Day Foundation. Their motto is "Saving 10,000 Dogs - One Day at a Time".
President George W. Bush, a dog owner himself, sent a letter to the foundation in support of National Dog Day.

In honor of National Dog Day and our dog-owning customers, select Sonic Drive-In locations in Texas will be offering FREE Doggy Bags with purchase to the first 100 customers who bring their dogs through our drive-thru on Saturday, August 23. The event will start when we open at 6:00am and continue while supplies last. Customers who arrive after all Doggy Bags have been handed out will still get a treat for their pet, plus a coupon for coming out to support this great event!

National Dog Day has officially changed it's date! Due to a large majority of Dog Day fans expressing that the heat in August is just too much for them and/or their dogs to bear, we have changed the date to October 25th annually.
This year will be the last of the events during August and we'll celebrate our new date with this event in Orange County, California.

Tuesday Tidbit
Many people ask me what I do at home all day. "Don't you get bored."
Hello! I am an author. I have voices in my head to keep me company. And if sometimes they overpower me, oh well >:)
Cleaning? Sure I could clean. I have four kids and a dog. It hardly seems worth the effort to do more than the laundry and dishes. Dishes for 6 takes long enough who has time to dust or vacuum?
The way vacUUm is spelled cracks me up. I can never spell it that way on my first try because it just looks so wrong.
Okay, today is webkinz day so gotta let my kids have their turns!!
(Sharing one puter with 6 peeps SUCKS)

Tuesday Tidbit
I've been a naughty girl this week so far about writing.
On sunday night my one daughter had an allergic to something. I dunno what. I'm just thrilled she didn't have a reaction severe enough to have trouble breathing. Hey she's got asthma and severe allergies. I worry a lot. baby her too much I am told. ANYWAYYYY
She still has hives. We've been giving her benadryl every 4 hours and lotion for the itching. Fortunately her hands and feet are no longer swollen, but the doctor doesn't want to put her on steroids just yet. I'm not sure why they are waiting. She's been on prednisone before and she's had the hives for 48 hours sun-mon and mon-tues so I think 48 hours LOL They want to wait two more days and then we can try that. They are worried the steroids will make her more succeptible to illness. I'll put her in a damn bubble if they can take away her itchy hives LOL

Tuesday Tidbit
So I got this fun thing in the mail. I always get a ton of duplicate emails because everyone loves me and no one wants to take the chance I might have missed out on the FUN email before.

This time it wasn't so annoying:
BUBBLE WRAP
I recommend the manic mode. It's more rewarding if you are like me :) No clicking and they bubbles pop way faster >:)
and for a more personal tidbit. My son was sick all weekend, shared it with me and now for the past two nights myself and my 5 year old have been up all night coughing. I'm off to bed to take a nap, and then have a few errands to run. YAY and then grocery shopping Wooo woooo (Always fun when you are SICK)

Tuesday Tidbit
I know that often authors will say this, but it's so true for me. I dream up my creations.
Midnight Rendezvous started with one scene. In my dream the heroine was in the alley and scared. The next minute she was plastered against the brick wall having the life kissed out of her. Aidan was born LOL.
Odd as it seems, I dreamt up The Agency with my monkey shifter. I dreamt of a scene with Jess and Chase that will appear in book three.
Morgan's Magick was born from a dream.
When I get stuck on a story I will try to dream about it in the hopes I will unblock my writer's block.

Tuesday Tidbit
My first tidbit is that my book Irish Dreams released from Loose Id today ;)

"The presence of a wide range of over-the-counter and prescription drugs, including antibiotics and hormones, was publicized by the Associated Press this week, after years of findings by government and independent scientists."
"To properly dispose of medication, keep it in its plastic container, fill it with water and kitty litter or sand, place the cap on the bottle, put it into a zip lock plastic bag, then dispose of it in the trash. The other option for discarding medications is to take them to your local hazardous waste facility or hazardous waste clean up day location."
The key thing here, people is that bottled water is NOT safer then Tap water. Tap water is tested and must pass certain tests. Bottled water doesn't and isn't as safe. Hard to believe, I know. Also, when you buy bottles water, you really aren't supposed to reuse those bottles. After several uses chemicals will get into the water in the bottle. It's also bad for the environment. Even if you recycle, imagine how much pollution is released into our atmosphere during production of the bottles.
Just drink for thought ;)

I told the SAME story twice. Seeee how tired I am?????
We went to the store to buy a used copy of Super Mario Sunshine as my son loves it so much he walked around with the disc and broke it. He saw the game in the store and SQUEALED!!! YOu buy MARIO FOR ME! MARIO FOR ME! AWWWWWWWWWWWWW
I was hysterical
I love my kids only I have a three year old that is better than me at a video game.

Tuesday Tidbit
Continuing my theme to get myself to post daily, I'm going to do a Tuesday Tidbit, but only when I have something interesting to say. LOL
In my research I discovered that Sassafras was once used to make rootbeer. Now, I already knew that. I used to live in the country where people made their own rootbeer. (We actually made our own ice cream too, but that's another story.) And I remember as children my brother and I would break twigs off of the sassafras tree to chew/suck on because we were told it had the flavor of rootbeer. (That no longer being true as it is no longer used to make rootbeer.) (And what do you expect from kids who thought walnuts came from the walls because whenever our neighbor was around they'd magically appear and bounce around.) It turnd out that Sassafras is used to make E. Kind of funny to me that Coca Cola used to contain cocaine. So this morning I was giggling my patootie off because we used to get free drugs with every drink. Of course it isn't the same as the processed material and the 'useable' drug, but it still strikes me funny.
So you'll no longer find Sassafras in rootbeer or in make up products. I guess it absorbs into the skin? I'm not sure. Why would they use sassafras for makeup anyway? rootbeer flavoring? hehehe.
