Thirteen things about MICHELLE HASKER
Edition #16 My Book

1.Midnight Rendezvous - July 2006 - Loose Id
Aidan Devlin owns a night club. He’s also the temporary leader of the North American Northeastern society of vampires. His wife is missing, and he can sense her but not find her.

Caitlyn Devlin is a part-time receptionist for a psychiatrist. Apparently, she’s also an amnesiac vampire with a husband who’s trying to save her from a serial killer determined to make her his next victim.

Really, what’s a girl to do?

2.Taking A Chance - part of Christmas Candy - December 2006 - WCPT

3.Morgan's Magick - Celtic Love Knots #1 - Feb 2007 - WCPT
Morgan’s deepest fantasy comes true one afternoon when Jack brings her a new batch of wands, and ends up making love to her. When they learn that Jack is the recipient of a love potion she created, can their love survive doubt and mistrust?

4.The Bodyguard - April 2007 - Loose Id
Elena Fortescu has been through hell and wants revenge. She doesn’t need or want to get close to anyone, but Nicolas has other plans. Her bodyguard has fallen in love with her and he’s not going to let the fact that she’s a vampire keep them apart.

5.Sheila's Surrender - Celtic Love Knots #2 - May 2007 - WCPT
Two women: different lives, same experiences. Can each face her past to learn if there will ever be a future with the man that left her so long ago?

6.Bunny Love - June 2007 - Aspen Mountain Press
As a veterinarian, Tambra works long hours and has little time to "search" for a man. When she unexpectedly meets a man covered with tattoos and wearing a kilt, holding a small bunny while attending a Wiccan retreat she discovers things aren't always what they seem.

7.Mountain Rendezvous - August 2007 - Loose Id
Meredith's ex-husband was a serial killer. Was, because she killed him. Or, at least, she thought she did. But now hunky Federal Agent Slade Jackson tells her he's back and killing women who look just like her.

What's a vampire to do?

Probably banging the human agent on the case isn't the best plan. But he's smoking hot, he wants her, she wants him and she just can't seem to stop. They both better hope it doesn't interfere with the case, or she'll be screwed.

And not in the good way.

8.Tarot Anthology: Synchronicity #1 - September 2007 - WCPT
Abigail Montgomery reads cards. And this time around she has twenty-two very special readings to do. From a woman who needs to learn the magic of love, to another who has to accept her inner beauty. A man who learns to look within himself, and a woman who has to face Death to move beyond. Will these people make the right choices for happiness? Or will they be forever lost?

9.Screaming Orgasm - October 2007 - Aspen Mountain Press
Tara’s not looking for love, and will go to great lengths to avoid becoming intimate with a guy. Brandon is tired of taking no for an answer. He loves Tara, and when a mysterious stranger takes a very active interest in her, it’s time to stake his claim.

10.Kate's Muse - November 2007 - Aspen Mountain Press
Kate's muse has left her and she's viciously cursed him to all sorts of tortures. But Corban isn't taking her abuse any longer or he'll become a laughing stock. No, he intends to show Kate a thing or two about how to take proper care of your muse.

11.Tarot Anthology: Synchronicity #2 - Coming Dec 2007 - WCPT

12.Hearts' Desire - Coming Dec 2007 - Aspen Mountain Press

13.The Bodyguard: Nash - Coming Jan 2008 - Loose Id

Seven Random and/or Weird Things About Me

I've been tagged by Lesley! Bad Lesley, bad bad bad!!

Here are the rules:

Link to the person that tagged you, and post the rules on your blog. Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs. Let each person know that they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

1-I've always wanted to be a teacher.

2-In person I'm shy. Online I have no sense of modesty.

3-I really do collect pictures of nekkid men to use in stories. Every man is different and if I didn't find new inspiration all my men would be tall, dark, blue eyed men with an extra large sausage log between their legs.

4-I hold a grudge forever. Ask my husband. Piss me off once, I NEVER EVER forget even if I say I forgive you.

5-I have zero tolerance or patience for cheaters. I hope your dick falls off and your boobs sag.

6-I have to restrain myself from responding to SPAM. I dont have a penis thank you. I write sex, I think I can please my mate. I can prolly give you a few tips. I don't need a fuck buddy, I'm married to the energizer bunny and get more than you dream of.

7-I'm not nearly so rude in person. (maybe)

I tagged: Maura Anderson, Tina Bendoni, Dawn Montgomery, Celia Kyle, Aline de Chevigny, Melinda Barron, and Piper but I doubt she'll see it. She's in hiding, darn woman. Me needs Dragon!!

bad bad me

Okay so my daughter's fave author is coming to her school. What do I do? I go to his site and email him. While there, I - the habitual link clicker - I can't help myself, really. Better people than you have tried and I just can't stop clicking.

So I wanted to share the most entertaining little things he has posted at his site.
Trust me, it's worth the read. And even if you don't find it as humorous as me, admit it, you were looking for a reason to procastinate anyway.

Friday Flash

Taking a page from Maura's book of how to tease and torment a reader. LOL

She licked her lips and reached for the button on his jeans. His six pack abs glistened with sweat. As she tugged his jeans lower, she could see the fine dark hairs that led to where her questing hands wanted to go. Large strong hands reached down and he opened his jeans with a chuckle. "Is this what you want, baby?"
She growled and pushed his hands away as she tugged open his pants and wrapped her hand around him.

New Review - The Bodyguard

I am so thrilled to tell you about this review. Lacey from Romance Junkies has written what is probably my best review ever, tied with the one that Ali gave me for the same book :)

My review!

The whole review is so fantastic it's hard to pick a snippet to share.

I also applaud Elena’s strength and how she never gave up. THE BODYGUARD is a heartfelt story that will dwell in your memory long after you read the last word. A job well done, Ms. Hasker. I highly recommend this book.

I am sooo pleased to see that what I'd intended to do with the story suceeded :) I love Elena and can't wait for you all to see a little bit more of her in The Bodyguard: Nash.

Bound in Lust is availably now at Changeling Press.
by Dawn Montgomery
cover art by Reneé George
ISBN (13): 978-1-59596-871-5
Genre(s): Paranormal, Angels & Demons

A bite by a demon leaves Elena cursed. When the dark mark of the succubae entwines with her soul, she becomes the enemy, one who drains the élan vital or life force of her victims. Now she is the hunted. And the only place she can find refuge is with a demon. Drake Oblivion, dark demon of lust. For a price, all things are possible, but will a cure be worth the cost of her soul… or heart?

For Drake, a millennium of lust is the icing on the cake of demonic life. When the sexy bartender asks for his help, he can't help but agree. But things aren't always what they seem. An enemy has created a double-edged sword in the luscious curvy body of the passionate woman. He'll have to successfully bind her soul to his or die. For once the succubae has you, you are bound in lust to her unto death.

The first in this series, Bound in Lust is a HOT SEXY Rollercoaster ride. Fast paced and action packed, with lots of yummy sex rolled in one, this story satisfied all my cravings. I love Drake. He's just so damn hot and delicious. Elena is the perfect match for him. I really can't wait for the rest of Dawn's series because one can't have enough of the Demon of Lust.

I finished Irene

My First Person Vday Story is finally finished. I swear I thought it was going to best me. First person is not my favorite to write. I worry that people will think it's me and not the heroine, but I did it anyway. And I finished. Broke 10k today. Edits and then submission
woo woo

And my reward created for me by my generous CP Tina Bendoni:

Flash Fiction Friday

*Deleted scene from Kate's Muse

“It’s time for your punishment.” He held out his hand and a small black leather whip appeared in his hand. “Are you ready to accept it?”

Was she? Kate stared at the whip, then at Corban. This was what she’d fantasized about, Rather frequently, too. She swallowed and nodded, bracing her hands on the headboard.

“You will speak only when told to, and you will address me as Master. Anything less and I’ll add ten lashes to your punishment. Do you understand? Ten lashes each time you break a rule.”

Did he think she was stupid? She’d heard him the first time. He tapped the whip on her thigh. Shoot, she hadn’t answered him yet. “Yes, Master.” Was that breathy voice hers?

The first lash was a surprise, and she bucked against the restraints at the sting. A small cry escaped before she could contain it.

“Are you okay, Kate?”

The concern in his voice melted her last reserve. He didn’t want to hurt her. No, he wanted to master her. And if he was as good now as he was in her dreams, he was the only one who could ever master her.

“I think we need a safe word. How about Succotash?”

“Succotash?”

“Yeah. It’s not something you’ll be likely to cry out by accident.”

Kate grinned and looked back at Corban. The sting had already faded and she wondered when he was going to continue his lesson.

“Turn around and face the wall, slave. You forgot to address me as Master. That’s ten more lashes, Kate.”

With a sigh, she turned back to the wall and braced herself. Then next strike stung more than the first. Before the pain receded, he hit her again, but in another spot. Over and over he flicked the whip against her ass. At first it hurt, but after a few lashes, the pain turned into pleasure. Heat rushed through her body and moisture dripped down her thighs.

Kate focused on the sting of pain, then the rush of pleasure as he continued to rain lashes on her.

“That’s it.” Corban paused and slid his palm over her sensitive flesh. “Nice and red. So beautiful.”

Kate moaned and lifted into the caress.

“You’re fired, damn it!” Kate shouted at the ceiling, slamming her fists on the desk for emphasis. “You’ve done this to me for the last time. I’ll find myself a new muse and to hell with you!”

Kate Sterling tossed her pen across the room and barely restrained herself from making the laptop take the same flying arc. She wanted to make something smash into the wall, needed to break something. Like her damn muse’s neck.

Pushing away from the desk, she spun around on her chair and glared at the potted palm in the corner. Shame it wasn’t a little taller. Though, she did have nine-foot ceilings… That would be high enough to make her muse dangle from a noose with his body jerking as the rope tightened until he couldn’t breathe any more. Or maybe his neck would snap when she pushed him off the stool.

“Damn, stupid muse. I hope you burn in the deepest pits of hell, your screams echoing in your ears as you burn for eternity, never finding peace from the agony of melting flesh and popping muscles and bones.”

“That’s a mite harsh, isn’t it, Kate?”

Kate shrieked and fell off the chair as she turned to look behind her. The man leaning against the wall looked exactly like her wayward muse. The one she’d just been cursing.

“What have I ever done to you, love?”

“Jesus Christ!” Kate scrambled backward as he leaned forward, his face highlighted in the glare of the light. He was her muse in living, breathing flesh. Impossible!

“No. If I remember correctly, you condemned me to burn in hell with Satan.”

“But you…you can’t be real.”

“I’m as real as you want me to be, love.”

“Can I have a Screaming Orgasm, Cody?” Tara leaned against the mahogany counter and glanced around at the growing crowd.

“Sure thing, sweetheart. I get off about two, when do you want to get off?”

Tara choked on her own saliva. She’d set herself up for that one. Cody was a flirt, she knew that. She should be used to his flirtatious banter by now. She recovered quickly as he set the drink in front of her. “If I thought you’d take me up on the offer, handsome, I’d say every hour on the hour.”

“That’s what I love about you, Tara. Your comebacks. I’m going to miss you when you move on.”

“Yeah, well, you know. A rolling stone gathers no moss, or whatever.”

“Sweetheart, you’re no rolling stone.”

“Thanks.” Tara took a deep sip and enjoyed the way the vodka, Bailey’s and Kahlua hit the spot, numbing her, at least temporarily.

“I really do wish you’d let me set you up with someone. Trust me, Hon, a real screaming orgasm would do you wonders.”

“You know why I can’t.” Tara looked away and focused on the jukebox against the far wall. Those memories needed to stay buried. Remembering was too painful. There was nothing she could do about it now, but she could make sure she never hurt another person as she had hurt Chad.

Tara glanced back at Cody as he moved down the bar to serve his customers. He was a pleasure to watch. All hard, toned muscle, tanned skin and blue eyes that either saw right through her, or made her want to melt into an orgasmic puddle at his feet.

Sweat with Sven Update 10-29

Well, even though I had edits and stuff with the kids that kept me from writing, plus a battery charger that is dying and won't charge most of the time. (and a little battle with self doubt...) I got it together, and wrote the past two days. My goal is 858 a day. I wrote 1,182 on Saturday, and 1,439 on Sunday. I have something due ASAP and I've been stuck on it for a while. I hope to finish it today. If I can write 3,502 words. And with a trip to the book fair this afternoon and a Girl Scout baking party tonight, I'm not sure if I'll have enough time. Of course if I don't take a nap today :)

Nuit Aux Trois

by Melinda Barron
Resplendence Publishing
CATEGORY: Erotic, Paranormal
ELEMENTS: Menage, M/M
HEAT LEVEL: FIRE OPAL
LENGTH: Short Story
FORMAT: e-Book
Regular Price $2.50

Quinn’s two roommates, lovers Fletcher Covair and Devlin St. Giles, have the perfect idea: Quinn will accompany them on a Halloween ghost hunt at a haunted plantation. Quinn agrees, knowing there’s no such thing as ghosts and thinking the time away will give her time to assess her future job prospects, and if nothing else, a chance to relax.

But the plantation’s resident ghost, Alison, has other ideas. She wants help in righting a long-time wrong, and it seems that the ghost has chosen Quinn, Dev, and Fletch to assist her. While Quinn’s mind is reeling from the knowledge that there are really ghosts, she comes to another shocking realization: Dev and Fletch have more on their minds than ghost hunting, and Alison isn’t the only restless spirit who wants to make contact.

Nuit Aux Trois was a fabulous read. I read this in one sitting and want to go back and read it again. Between the hot sex, the hunky men, the heroine you can relate to and love, did I mention the hot sex and the great location, irritated ghosts, hot sex, fun characters, like Martin (Hope he gets his own book), a seance, hot sex, characters who's love is too real to doubt, hot sex, ghosts (I love ghosts and ghost hunters), ghost sex, (what?!)

I am off to bed, and tomorrow plan to lose myself in another one of this talented author's books!

Flash Fiction Friday

Edition One

Dark clouds sped across the sky covering the full moon. Winds whipped through the forest disturbing the creatures and shaking the trees.

Dorothy gazed at her husband with fear in her eyes. This was not a natural storm. No, this was something magical. Something that no one she knew could create with such force. No one except…

“I curse you Dorothy DeLaney. I curse you Theodore DeLaney. I curse your descendants.”

Dorothy and Teddy turned and watched as a thick fog crept closer to them with each step the witch took.

“Since you took from me that which I held dearest, I curse you and your family to lose that which they would hold dearest. From this night forth you and your descendants will never know true happiness and love. Death shall strike those your family cherishes. They shall know nothing but sadness and loss. I curse you and your family to a lifetime of unhappiness. A lifetime without love.”

With a loud bang, and a flash of lightening, the witch disappeared. Dorothy and Teddy looked at each other in horror as the clouds burst and rain fell in cold, hard pellets.

When she had first come here, Cody had intimidated her, but now that she had gotten to know him very well, the incorrigible flirt had etched a spot in her heart forever. Too bad she really did need to get laid.

Even though Cody had his pick of women, love seemed to elude him like it did her. While he had no problems matching employees and friends, he had yet to find someone special for himself. Or her. Thank Godbut it wasn’t for lack of trying on his part. As much as Tara wanted to stay here at Del Fantasma with Cody looking out for her, she couldn’t. Her job as a singer was temporary. Once she had enough funds she would move on. Again.

Thirteen Things About MICHELLE HASKER
Edition #15 HAUNTED PHILADELPHIA

There are so many haunted places in Philly that I ended up using the most popular ones :)

1. Eastern State Penitentiary, a grim 172-year-old former state prison, was once home to famous inmates Al Capone and Willie Sutton. Pained former prisoners are said to haunt Eastern State's dark Gothic halls. Halloween staff regularly reports seeing the "Soap Lady" dressed in white in the last cell on the second floor. "Terror Behind the Walls," a Halloween tour of the 12-acre site, is offered by candlelight, with visits to The Asylum, Cellblock of Lost Souls and a Tunnel Escape included in the "fun." Not for the faint of heart. 20th Street & Fairmount Avenue, (215) 236-5111 I'm planning on going here with my dad, sister and brother perhaps when the Halloween ruckus dies down, or else early next October before the rush starts. Is it ever not crowded? hehe

2. St. Peter's Church Cemetery has been home to ghosts for more than a century. Some spectators have seen a horse-drawn carriage charging through the center of the graveyard and through the church. Others say restless Native American chiefs roam the grounds and the spirit of a colonial African American man can sometimes be seen walking in the graveyard by moonlight. 4th & Pine Streets you can see this place while on a ghost tour.

3. At City Tavern, a historic restaurant in Old City Philadelphia, a former waiter is always on the job. Legend has it that he was the unintended victim of a bar room duel. To this day, proprietor/chef Walter Staib reports that table settings are moved and silverware clatters. A specter in a bloodied white shirt is sometimes seen falling to the floor before it disappears. 138 S. 2nd Street, (215) 413-1443

4. A few minutes from Philly: Strayer College - formerly Eastern State School and Hospital - Rumored to be haunted due to unfair treatment and killing of patients. If you go into patients rooms the doors will slam shut and trap you in. When you walk down the halls you can sometimes see a figure fallowing you of a man. Mysterious 4th floor said to be life threatening and extremely haunted. If you go into the morgue its very cold and feels like theres a fan on you with no windows in site. My husband knows someone who is a gaurd at Strayer but I'm wondering if the college has satellites - I need to look into it. The building is relatively new, so I think the one his friend works at isn't the original, but of course it didn't occur to me to ask until now. Figures

5. This one made it onto one of those scariest places in Philadelphia Show: General Wayne Inn - This inn is home to more than 17 ghosts including Hessians, a ghost wanting his wives picture, a old owner, and a ghost singing.

6. Just a freaky place to visit period- The Institute of Pennsylvania - Reports of the elevator opening with a loud noise and voices, and foot steps came from the elevator.

7. With a diff spelling this would be a hospital I’ve been in several times and yes was overnight several times. If this is Jeanes then I actually have friends who work there….NOT haunted. And it is now owned by Temple. Jeans Hospital - A few years ago Jeans Hospital was having financial difficulties and there were rumors that it would be bought out. It is said that Anna-May Jeans (founder of the hospital) began appearing to various members of the staff to show her disapproval of a buy-out. BUMMER can’t count this as one of my TT13 since it’s NOT haunted :) NOW…there is a mansion behind it that IS. Ryers Mansion. They do tours on Sundays!

8. Gotta go here now :) The Civil War Library and Museum - Was feature on unsolved mysteries--net work tv. On the second floor, in the Lincoln Room, the spirits of soldiers have been seen playing cards.

9. Okay there was a movie about this. Don't ask me for names. I can't remember your name until I've met you at least twice. I'm horrible with names. It was creepy… Philadelphia University (Textiles)- When the university was a small Catholic school for girls, a nun supposedly hung her self in the top room of the mansion, after finding out she was impregnated by the father...Today, the attic is locked but people still see lights on or the figure of the nun standing up there...the old classrooms are now an all girls dormitory that has had countless incidences from noises to white fuzzy glowing balls appearing in pictures taken...when nothing was there...supposedly you can still see the nun if you sit on the hill in front of the mansion...she is said to walk there at sunrise.

10. The Betsy Ross house is haunted! Saw this one on TV too :) http://members.aol.com/PhillyGost/Tom1.html a cool story of an investigation there.

11a. The Franklin Institute is as well, but since I was there as a Chaperone, I didn’t get to question the guide on all the stuff I REALLY wanted to know about.

11b. You may know that John Adams was the only U-S President sworn in at Philadelphia, but did you know some people believe they see him haunting Congress Hall?

Not a specific place to visit, but a tour of several haunted locations:
12. Ghost Tour of Philadelphia Hear the chilling tales of America's most historic...and most haunted city on this candlelight walking tour through Independence Park and Society Hill...
Is Ben Franklin still roaming the streets of his "City of Brotherly Love"?

Even with me tinkering with 11, I ran out of room. I might need to do more, but then there are so many haunted places in Philly it's crazy. I have a story:

This is about our last home, not our new one - My daughter was 3 at the time. She was sleeping in her room, woke up and saw a woman looking at her. She described a woman I'd never met, or seen before. I've always had an interest in ghosts, so I found a neighbor who'd known the woman who'd lived in my house for most of her life and said, did this woman have blue eyes, dark curly hair and smile a lot. The response was yeah she did, and she loved kids even though she'd never had one. So while you all may want to explain it away as my child could have imagined anything as she was dreaming....the woman had actually died the week before I asked this woman and that would have been around the time my daughter had seen her. There were other things, too. One of them we found out was our dog, but there were others we couldn't explain. BUT it turns out my dog lifts the toilet lid with her head, drinks, then lets it fall back down when she pulls her head away. When you are home all alone and there is no other sounds, that loud CRACK is very scary...til I caught her doing it ;)

Sweat with Sven

My Writer's block broke thanks to three people!
Dawn Montgomery, Tina Bendoni, and Kim Knox. But mostly because of Dawn. She's writing this really hot story where I'm the heroine, and right now I'm tied up in bed and the hero has just woken me. And no, we hadn't been doing the nasty. I was a bad girl and he caught me. And now.... I'm his prisoner YUM. I want her to write MORE. AND she clued me in to this new version of Wicked Games I'd not heard before. I loved the song, but this version works so well with my story! I wrote 2,483 today and a 5,147 total. I am feeling awesome and am gonna keep writing.
Kim and Tina both pushed me to write, helped me when I struggled, and cheered me when they read unedited excerpts of my rude hero :) I am so grateful for my friends. I should mention Aline de Chevigny also pushed me today, but she's busy working hard at the mines so we aren't as able to push each other as usual.

SO my reward for today:

Well got one of those nasty migraines today. I did manage to write just over 900 words, AND get my newsletter written and sent out, in addition to the other hum drum real life crapola.

Hopefully I can squeeze in some Vday writing before bed, but head hurts. But I made my goal. Wee

70 Days of Sweat updated

So I wrote 868 words on my sven story yesterday, and about 500 words on my vday project. So I passed my goal of 858 by 10 words :)

70 days of Sweat

So yesterday I reached 881 of my 858 goal. I figure 858 words for 70 days and I'll have my 60,000 words for the three novellas :) weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

So I reached 881 and then closed the story and added two pages to my vday story. I showed my sven story at the DoC so I'll show some of my vday story here. (No I'm not counting the writing toward Sven. It's just a story I wanna finish :)

“Do I look fat?” I turned, trying to see my reflection from every angle. When I bought this tiny bikini I’d been happy with my weight, but I’d put on a few pounds. I wasn’t sure if it was just me or if I was too fat to wear this in public.

“What?” Gabriel, my roommate and fashion savior called from the living room.

I took a deep breath for courage, and walked out into the living room. I struck my best sultry pose, put one hand on my hip and held the other out and pouted at Gabriel.

“What are you doing, Irene?”

“Do I look fat?” I dropped the runway model pose and straightened to my full six foot height. Gabriel was one of the few men I knew that was taller than me. I didn’t have to slouch when talking to him, and we looked great together when we went out with the gang.

“No. You have a luscious body.” He looked back down at his game of solitaire.

“Gabe.” I shook my head and sat on the arm of the sofa. I knew he was gay, but not that he’d be that desperate to look away from my body. “I do look fat, don’t I?”

“No. You have a nicely toned body. You’re a bit white though. You need to spend more time in the sun.”

I sighed and pushed his shoulder. “You know what I mean. You won’t even look at me now.”

“You’re practically naked.”

“So?” I nudged him again and laughed. “You’ve seen me parade around in my teddies, what’s more revealing about this?”

Gabriel moved away from me so I slipped between him and the arm of the sofa. “Spill it, loverboy.”

I loved watching his face flush when I called him that. Sometimes I’d do it just to watch his pretty face color. Gabriel was one fine specimen of man. He’d make some man really happy one day. What a shame for the rest of us ladies, though. If he weren’t gay, I’d have taken him for a test drive. Or two. Or three. Or a bazillion.

New Review! Mountain Rendezvous :)

Today must be my lucky day! Mountain Rendezvous got another great review!!

And I did up an excel spreadsheet for Sven and Nano. Yes I live to procastinate!!

Title: Mountain Rendezvous
Author: Michelle Hasker
Publisher: Loose Id
Publisher URL: www.loose-id.net
Reviewer: Sandi Potterton
Rating: 4 Stars
Heat level: H

Meredith Craine had no choice but to kill her husband. She didn't kill him because he was a vampire; after all, she's one too—but he was a serial killer and he killed her parents, as well as trying to kill her sister twice! She really had no choice! But the Slasher killings have started again and Slade Jackson of the FBI is positive that Jake is still alive and still killing. Sleeping with the sexy FBI agent is probably not the smartest thing Meredith has ever done but it may be the only way to find the new killer and discover if Jake is really still alive!

Mountain Rendezvous is a fun, sexy, action-packed adventure of a romance! Although this is a sequel to Ms. Hasker's Midnight Rendezvous it is certainly capable of standing alone. You gain enough general background information that the players and past plot are not a mystery. I didn't find myself lost, although it would have been nice to read the first story. Ms. Hacker has created a convincing alternate reality with some very likeable characters as well as some evil villains with a theme of good vs. evil. The sex and romance between Meredith and Slade is also very hot. Scenes contain oral, vanilla and vampire biting, and happen in some unusual places. The plot moves quickly and although this story is resolved there is also obvious opportunity for more books set in this reality. I enjoyed Mountain Rendezvous and found it a nice solid vampire tale.

Sweating with Sven!

Okay, this is day one and I'm running around like a chicken with my head cut off.
Cause we have Nano next month, too. And I have a habit of not finishing Nano or Sweat.
Soooo what to work on :(
I have three novellas due in the spring for WCPT.
I have an Urban Fantasy I want to write. Another Rendezvous for my series ;)
Then there are all my started but not finished stories.
*sighs*
man oh man.
It's the sex...it's killing me.
Okay. I'm getting my Witchy notebook and will work on my three novellas for Sven.
Rendezvous is for Nano.
no change backs!!

New Review! Mountain Rendezvous

Maria from Romance Junkies has read Mountain Rendezvous and given it a fabulous review :)

MOUNTAIN RENDEZVOUS is a fun, edgy tale of a mysterious female vampire and a cop who seeks her out as part of a murder investigation and is drawn into her sensual, dangerous web. As a vampire, Meredith Foxxe doesn’t learn to trust easily. Add to this the fact that she found out her husband was a serial killer and had to kill him before he murdered her sister. Trust issues? Most definitely! So when FBI Special Agent Slade Jackson comes knocking on her door looking for her husband “The Slasher,” her instincts say run, but her body can’t help but stand up and take notice of Slade’s hot body and sexy demeanor. Her goal is to stay far away from this man and shut down the palpable sexual attraction she feels, but sometimes failure can feel so good…

This is a novella full of zest and sensuality, and a lot of excitement too. After reading the first love scene, which had my pulse racing, I knew there was going to be lot of hot and heavy love scenes between Meredith and Slade, and I was down with that. However, the author did not disappoint in her writing of the rest of story. There is plenty of tension and excitement in the pages of MOUNTAIN RENDEZVOUS to keep thrill—junkies entertained.

I noticed that the settings and scenes in this story were well written and detailed so as to feel familiar to any reader, and I liked this realistic touch. The author also keeps the reader so wrapped up in delicious ribbons of sexual excitement that when you are suddenly confronted with the antagonist of the story, you are almost startled by the turn of the plot, but in a good way. The plot’s twists and turns really test the skill of the author’s writing, and Ms. Hasker holds her own in this aspect. The characters develop well, the conflict is entertaining as it evolves and the thrilling love scenes are truly cold—shower inducing! I definitely recommend MOUNTAIN RENDEZVOUS to fans of the vampire genre and anyone looking for a spicy, sensual read.

New Review: The Bodyguard

Pam from My Book Cravings gave The Bodyguard 4 out of 5, and said:

This is my first book by Miss Hasker, and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. The sexual chemistry between Elena and Nicholas is intense, but at the same time filled with tenderness and compassion as he tries to help her work through her hurts of the past. The author has managed to pack a lot of emotion, characters and plot into this well written short literary gem. The manner that Miss Hasker dealt with the violence that Elena experienced at the hands of her captor, and how Nicholas’s used similar loving situations to make new memories, was a wonderful twist that I didn’t expect. The introduction of Nicholas’ identical twin leads me to hope for his story sometime in the future.

Mountain Rendevous reviewed!

Cherokee at Coffee Time Romance gave Mountain Rendezvous 4 cups, and said this:

Mountain Rendezvous is a spectacular read. I love the interaction with Meredith and Slade. The reader can almost understand what Meredith is going through, as she tries to push any feelings aside for Slade because of the way men have treated her. Once they connect, it is a powerhouse. Michelle Hasker has penned a great story that keeps the reader entertained while guessing about the turn of events with the Slasher. She makes her characters come alive and writes engaging stories that make this reader want more.

My 100th post and death

Woo Hoo I made it to post 100. But I had more sad news today.

In addition to my aunt passing away in August, so did one of my neighbors, and today or late last night, I lost another neighbor. My mom past away on Labor Day, Sept 4th 2000 so I had that to deal with the anniversary of her sudden death, too. I'm not one for posting sad gloomy messages, especially since this is my blog and public, and I don't want to be all sad and depressing, but I wanted to let everyone know why I've been so quiet lately. Enough with people dying already!!!

Bunny Love reviewed at FAR

Fallen Angels Review has reviewed Bunny Love.

Tamara Wood notices him, how could she not, a gorgeous man in nothing but a kilt with tattoos. When he runs into her and asks where he can find Tamara Wood, it’s a dream come true. Of course he needs her services, vet services that is, with a baby bunny that needs saving. She’s hoping he can feel the heat that is between them.

Blade needs help keeping the bunny alive. The sparks that ignite between him and Tamara are just icing on the cake. He’s hoping that he can take the place of her vibrator. Can he save the bunny and keep this thing between them going, or will it fizzle out when the retreat is over?

What can I say about a story that heats up the blood from the on-set? Ms. Hasker sure knows what readers want from their erotica; hunky men and the women who love to love them. Throw in a cute baby bunny and you have a story that not only scorches the pages but one that pulls at the heartstrings as well. A quick read for when you’re standing in line or riding the bus or train on the way to your own adventure.

Texas Tea by Maura Anderson

Del Fantasma: Texas Tea
by Maura Anderson
ISBN: 978-1-60168-052-5
Artist: Nikita Gordyn
Aspen Mountain Press

Photographer Lara Saunders has a lifelong secret -- she can see and hear ghosts. When she was rescued from a near drowning by the ghost of a lighthouse keeper, he set her on a mission to document historic lighthouses and the lives of their keepers so they were not forgotten. Now on her third book in the series, Lara has arrived in San Diego to document the Old Point Loma Lighthouse but hasn't counted on becoming the target of Cody Warren, the matchmaking owner of the Del Fantasma bar. Or falling in love with a handsome Park Ranger whose secret is even more strange than her own.

PHEW. I read Texas Tea in one sitting, and let me tell you my kids were not happy with my snapped, Get your own drink. Especially the two year old. This is supposed to be Maura's first venture into fiction. If it is, I have to say, where the hell have you been hiding?

Not only is the story sensual, but the sparks from the characters seems to fly off the page. Matt is one hot hero and Lara is the perfect heroine for him. Not spot in this story drags or disappoints. I can't wait to see what she cooks up next!

Bunny Love's First Review!!

Tanya from Joyfully Reviewed read Bunny Love and called it a Super Spicy Read. Thanks so much for taking the tim eto read my story Tanya!!

Bunny Love was a super spicy read. I love how the character while camping must have the comforts of home. I still wonder why Blade is wearing a kilt and how the bunny made out. I also wish the author talked a little more about the retreat that Tambra was on. I think the author did a wonderful job in writing the thoughts and needs of the characters as well as setting the sensual scenes up. Bunny Love is hot and quick read.

Thursday Thirteen # 11

Thirteen Things about MCHELLE HASKER
Thirteen things to put in a snow day box

I know, there is no snow yet but really you should be prepared. *evil grin oh and a dollar store is a great place to get all these supplies!

1.A new box of crayons or markers and coloring books. (something they've not colored in before so it is new and they want it.)

2.A new DVD or VHS tape and box of popcorn. Or bag if you like air popped. (again something they've never seen so they will watch it, maybe twice or more. ;)

3.Play doh - UGH I know, but put out a dollar store table cloth or shower curtain on the floor/table and roll it all up and trash when done. LOL

4.Hair and nail stuff for girls. Poster board and tissue paper for boys to make a battleground for their fave toys.

5.Cake mix and icing or brownies. Bake something with the little ones then everyone gets a nice treat. (By keeping this and the popcorn in the box you keep set aside for a snow day, you are garunteed not to use it and then have bare cupboards. ;)

6.Pencils and puzzle books. (Even younger children will do mazes/play tic tac toe, the box game, etc.)

7.scraps and odds and ends. A few candid photos and scrapbook paper with scissors and glue stick. Let the kids make some homemade scrapbooks. (For their sake it doesn't even need to be expensive acid free items as they are likely to tack it up on the wall or take to school to show off. Let them have fun not make it to keep forever.)

8.Beads and pipe cleaners or string for girls to make jewelry. Popsicle sticks for boys to create 'things'.

9.Toilet paper rolls and tissue paper - color the roll and decorate with tissue paper, attach string and hang your 'wind sock'.

10.Party items like hats/blowers, etc for their snow day party (to go with the cake.)

11.Bingo -kids love bingo, even more when they win prizes. You can get a lot of prizes at the dollor store and you can even make your own bingo, or go to crayola dot com and print out their winter bingo. They have pictures on the bingo cards and the children color in the bingo cards as you call the pictures out.

12.Manila file folders. Have children draw a picture or tear a page from a magazine for them to glue on the folder. Cut it into puzzle pieces and put together and share with their siblings and parents. Ziplock bags store the pieces well. ;)

13.Dollar store games. They always have those bowling or giant checkers or golf sets. You can easily find something inexpensive that they can't do too much damage with. Or put in a book of indoor games they can use to decide what they want to play.

Well, isn't that what they were born to do? I know I gave my mom and stepdad a run for their money :)

Today was my day to post at Torrid Tempations, the Whiskey Creek Press Torrid blog.

Kids like to interupt constantly and actually every one interupts me when I'm in my flow. My husband's friend was over Sunday night and he walked in and started to talk. As I'm typing with my head in my laptop. I tried ignoring him, but he kpet talking so I waved my hand. He kept talking anyway. So I stopped looked at him, took a deep breath and said, "Do you see what I am doing?" waited for him to nod. "I am writing. You cannot interupt me until my muse takes a break." and went back to writing. LOL poor man, but hey I was on a roll!

Thursday Thirteen #10

Thirteen Things MICHELLE HASKER does to procastinate:

1- Check my email. My family email, my friend email, both of author emails, myspace email, the rarely used email I probably spend 3 or more hours a day hitting refresh LOL

2- Wash dishes. Makes me feel like I got a lot of cleaning done, and the sink is close to the laptop. I also wash the top of the stove a lot, even if I've not cooked. Glass tops need lots of cleaning, don't ya know? hehe

3- I'd check my email again, but I already said that, so watching Doctor Who videos at You Tube.

4- Watching tv episodes I've taped for when I have time to watch them.

5- Read. Even if it is the Yahoo! news articles that are on their home page, or a book or ebook.

6- Talk on IM for hours. Play backgammon with Tina since I forget how to play canasta and I'm the one who taught her. *bangs head

7- Yell at kids. It's my new favorite past time, don't you know!

8- Dusting. I've started dusting in order to procastinate. Well, one of my children IS asthmatic so you know I have to keep a clean house...yeah right.

9- Read and reread the story I'm supposed to be working on.

10- Tweak. I can tweak a story to an early grave if I'm bored enough.

11- Play either animal crossing or princess peach. I've beaten Princess Peach once and am on the second time through. I have paid off all my mortgages on Animal Crossing and have the golden statue of me. Needless to say...my kids hate me.

12- I'd check email again, but we've been there, done that. I will go to Yahoo! games to see if there is anything new to play. And if not then I find my sudoku book and get busy solving.

13- Last but NOT least, as I have many ways to procastinate. I clean my bathroom. You could drink out of my toilet on any given day. Not that you want to, but my dog recommends it.

The Perfect Hero by Aline de Chevigny

The Perfect Hero By Aline de Chevigny

Available Now from Red Rose Publications

Blurb:

Experiencing the worst case of writer's block she'd ever faced, Cassandra Daniels feared she'd never finish her novel by deadline. In walked Nicolas Henry making her hopes rise. Will he be the answer to her Hero problems?

Or the end of her career and hope that true love actually exists.

This was an enjoyable read. And the heroine's name is the same as my daughter :)
Wouldn't we all like a hero like this one?

Blah

things are still blah for me. The daily headaches don't help.
But rather than turn this into a whining post.
Kim has gotten me hooked on Doctor Who now. Course I can't wait for The Master to appear :)
The good news- I'm all caught up on my tv shows now.
The bad news - I still don't want to write. LOL

So I'll prolly keep playing with a new website I have in mind. I can't decide if I like the new one or the old one better, but I have another book releasing August 21st and then a book in September, and a book in December. The list goes on, but my thinking is that I won't have enough room at the top of my home page.

And since it is something writing related ;) It doesn't count as goofing off.

Mountain Rendezvous

Mountain Rendezvous will release August 21st from Loose Id.
I don't have an approved blurb or excerpt yet. We're in final edits on the story.

Mountain Rendezvous is the second in a series I have at Loose Id.
In book one, Midnight Rendezvous, Caitlyn discovers a family she didn't know she had, and learns that a powerful killer is after her. Learning you are the reason so many other women have died - all because they looked similar to you - is devastating. Even more so when you don't know who the killer is, and he could be the very man you are married to.
In Midnight we met Meredith and her husband Jake. In Book Two, we will see the rest of Meredith's story. Trying to keep your family safe and make sure no one learns your secrets is hard. Even harder when the FBI comes knocking on your door asking questions they won't like the answers to.

Here is an unedited excerpt:

“Hello, beautiful.”

A shiver raced up Meredith’s spine as someone breathed the soft words in her ear. She fought the uneasy feeling that crept into the pit of her belly and hovered there. The scent of aroused male tickled her nose, and she sniffed the air trying to figure out who stood behind her.

Spice and pine hit her first, then the more earthy scent of male. It intrigued her despite her unwillingness to feel anything again. Even without seeing him, desire flared in her belly. The emotion was not only unwanted, but a shock . She hadn’t felt this way since before she’d married Jake.

As she struggled to tamp down the unwanted sensation, Meredith plastered a neutral smile on her face. No matter how her body reacted, she couldn’t allow those emotions and feelings to rule her. It’d been a long, hard road, but traveling down it had taught her she wasn’t a good judge of men. The reminder quenched the silly girlish fluttering in her stomach.

She turned around and met a broad chest covered in black cotton. Then she looked up. Up. Up. Her admirer stood at least six and a half feet tall, if not more. Thick black waves of hair brushed against broad shoulders. Shoulders that looked as if they could carry the weight of the world on them. She needed someone to do that for her.

Meredith lowered her gaze, trying to ignore the way his black T-shirt clung to his hard abs and the way his tight jeans revealed his predicament. Holy Monkey. He was huge and she couldn’t tear her eyes away from the sight. Her knees grew weak until she finally tore her gaze away.

Who was this gorgeous male and why was he whispering in her ear? Meredith shifted her gaze to his face. Bright blue eyes darkened as they raked over her body.
Oh, man. She hadn’t dared examine him that thoroughly. Okay, maybe she had, but who was he and why did he make her feel this way? Dear God, she wanted to bite him. Her body hummed as she licked suddenly dry lips.

My writing has been nonexistant. The funeral was very beautiful and I got to see many family members I hadn't seen in a long time. And some of the kids were married and out of school and I remember when they were little *sighs

I feel so old. LOL

Tomorrow I have more family to visit, and today was spent with out of town family.
My oldest turns 11 tomorrow, although here it is already tomorrow. *sighs

olllllllllllllddddddddddd lol

I hope to get edits done so I can get back into the swing of Sven.

Been really busy

We went out of town Saturday to visit family, and then Sunday was my day to relax and recuperate - translation had a migraine sunday. Today I spent mostly on phone and doing edits for Mountain Rendezvous which releases in August, and I have a funeral to go to tomorrow and then more family to see out of town on Wednesday. Been a lot busier than I thought I'd be this summer. Where did my nice relaxing summer go? And now school will start and with it, scouts and dance and sports. *sighs*

Friends

I just have to say I have the bestest friends in the world.

I hit a few set backs, and have such a hard time this summer with the kids and working - and still unpacking- the new house, plus trying to meet my writing commitments...I even stopped promo-ing BAD ME

I have friends who keep at me, and push me and cheer me up and well...CARE.

So thank you. All of you, for each way you contribute to my mental health stability.

I wish I was a better friend to you gals.

*hugs

Bet Me - Lucynda Storey

Bet Me

Author: Lucynda Storey
Artist: Jinger Heaston

ISBN: 978-1-60168-019-8
Genre: Erotic
Publisher: Aspen Mountain Press
Publication Date: December 2006
Sexual Content: Erotic

When Sylvia is dared, she can't help but utter the words, "Bet me." But just what has she gotten herself and her friend Lea into when the bet includes sexy hunks, Travis and Brad?

Bet Me is a cute fun story that was a refreshing change from many others I've read lately. I liked all four of the characters, but was rooting for Sylvia, especially, to win the bet. This is one of those stories that I'll go back and reread when I need an entertaining but quick read.

Kate's Muse sold to AMP

I sold Kate's Muse to Aspen Mountain Press. It's the story about what happens to a writer when her much abused muse comes to life. Revenge can be sweet. Hehehe.

And not only was it so much fun to write, but I wrote it for a friend of mine...who never did say if she liked it or not. LOL

Stay tuned for more news.

SWEAT Day 8

SWEAT Day 6

I think I lost count in there somewhere, but today is Day 6 for me.

I wrote 1031 on my shapeshifter. I'm finding it increasingly harder and harder to write. I want to write. I sit down to write and then I get bored. Tv is boring me. Reading is boring me. I am bored........

Total word count for the 70 days of SWEAT is : 12,367

SWEAT Day 4

I wrote today but right now I want nothing more than find a quiet place to hide. My kids were beyond terrible and I'm so sick of never getting any time away from them. Imagine spending 24-7 with 4 kids. Sure he has to work, but he gets to go out. To the casino...to watch softball. I have gone out once this year without my kids. (not counting maybe three times I was lucky enough not to have a kid with at the grocery store) Mommy is about to have a nervous breakdown.

1974 for the day and 11,336 total.

SWEAT Day Three

my new word count is 1232, making my total word count 9362.

Bunnies

I love bunnies. Yeah, I know, I wrote a story with a baby bunny in it.
Based on a true story. Once we found a baby bunny...it died :(
So my husband got me a bunny. He resides in our backyard. Twix. Yes like the candy bar. He is a caramel color and a chocolate color and has black on him. Now I'm hungry.

So we moved to the new house in October, and ALL winter we were excited to see baby bunny tracks. Then this spring I finally saw him. He's a light brown with a huge white fluffy tail. If we could catch him I'd keep him. It's hard to keep the kids from feeding him...he is wild an all.

My neighbor has a garden with a wire fence and one of those small flowerbed white picket fence things. I was on the phone with my grandmother (who I've not heard from in years) and I saw the bunny hop from my yard over her drive way and go into her garden. Soooo I am now thinking I should leave some carrots for "Peter" under my porch before something happens to him.

Hehehee.
