oh my!

It's been forever since I blogged, but I'm still adjusting to this working, having 4 kids, and then softball, girl scouts, dance class, kidnastics, play dates, trips to the park, library, feed the ducks, should I go on?

My brother was in the hospital for a little while, and while visiting him I learned some sad news about a father of my husband's friend. Add on the health issues my grandparents are suffering from, I am definitely counting my blessings, but spending more time worrying about people than writing.

However, I'm working on a BBW that is a lot of fun to write. I got half way done. Now I need to finish it. Because since I started working, I have trouble finishing anything! The damn guilt about the messy house and how I am no longer making three meals a day gets to me. I can be my vision of a perfect mom, or I can be a writer and adequate mom. Why oh why do I burn with this need to be perfect in everything I do?

*slaps self.

Anyway, I hope to have a new release soon. I will keep you all posted :)

No one is perfect. Perfect is impossible. Give the kids love and attention, and do what you need to do for you as well. A happier mom makes happier kids. :)

Thank you Talya.
I wish it were that easy. I feel guilty doing for me when the kids are still needy.
I'm going to start trying to get a hidey spot to have me time for at least 20 minutes a day. Maybe 10 minutes to start...

I have recently come to the conclusion that you can't do for everyone but yourself. I wasn't taking care of myself the way I should. I was neglecting stuff that is important to me in the idea of being a perfect mom. Well what that ended up doing was making me a fat, unhealthy, depressed mom. So I took up running, managed to find time to write, and still somehow to keep up with my kiddos and the house. [Granted I've got two not four. ;)] I'm also not depressed, and I'm getting healthier and happier by the day! So just remember that quantity is not always better than quality and take your me time! *HUGS* I hope things go easier soon!
